As in previous years, this popular tax preparation software is now available on our work/life website and will be for the duration of the tax season. All you need to do is login to your Member Website, click on the "Your Work & Life Resources" button and then click on the TaxACT button on the lower right-hand side of the screen.
TaxACT offers free, basic online preparation assistance, and e-filing for one federal return per customer. Additional products are available at an additional cost, as outlined on the site, and include:
- TaxACT Deluxe with advanced import, help and tool options for federal taxes
- Software to assist with preparing state 1040 tax forms
- Bundled options for federal and state tax preparation and e-filing
As noted on the "Important Information About Filing 2010 Taxes" link on the TaxACT button, please remind employees to create a unique username and password as they register—something different than the username and password assigned to them to login to the VITAL WorkLife site.
Also, please note that for those who itemize their deductions, and a couple of other special cases, e-filing will not be accepted by the IRS until mid to late February due to tax law changes that were passed by Congress in December. This information, too, is detailed on the link mentioned above.
