The 2018 AMGA Conference in Phoenix was once again the gathering place for medical professionals and healthcare leaders to connect with their peers, share ideas and drive the direction of their profession. The conference provided plenty of learning opportunities and excellent speakers.
The two major themes of the conference were cultural transformation and stress and burnout. Speakers often contributed stress and burnout to lack of control, decreased time with patients, work life integration issues and growing administrative burdens. It’s clear providers want to spend more time with patients and less time on clerical duties—although, they are frequently working extra evening hours and weekends just to keep up.
